Tahani Awad has been working as a senior trainer at Sharjah Education Academy since 2022. She has extensive experience in the field of education, training, and professional development, which she gained through holding several positions over a period of 23 years. In 2020, she held the position of educational leadership consultant with UNICEF, and worked in 2015, as a training specialist at the Queen Rania Academy in Jordan. She also worked as a pioneer trainer at the Arab Cadre Company in 2011, and in 1999 as an Arabic language teacher at the Relief Agency.
Tahani held various positions in the education sector from 2006 to 2011, including assistant principal and school principal. In 2014, she worked in the private sector as director of the foreign programs department. Additionally, she spent four years as a trainer in the “Democracy” project, which aimed to develop the entrepreneurial skills of youth and adolescents. This project was affiliated with the King Abdullah Fund for Excellence.
Tahani received her bachelor’s degree in Arabic language and literature from the University of Jordan in 1999. She later obtained a diploma in school library management in 2002, and a diploma in educational administration in 2007 from the Naour Institute for Educational Development. In 2011, she completed her master’s degree in business administration, specializing in Human Resources Management, from the German Jordanian University. Additionally, in partnership with the University of Jordan, she completed a diploma in educational leadership from the University of Connecticut in 2017.
Tahani was awarded a scholarship by Harvard University in 2019 to take part in a two-year specialized program on advanced educational leadership, which enabled her to earn a specialized certificate in the field. Upon completing the program, she was appointed as an ambassador for advanced educational leadership in Jordan. In 2020, Tahani was selected as an educational expert for the Jordanian Women Experts Project, representing women in the education sector. The project was organized in collaboration with HIVOS and Radio Al Balad, with the objective of empowering women in leadership roles and increasing their representation in the media.
