The primary purpose of this course is to introduce new teachers to essential skills and concepts needed for success in UAE classrooms. It aims to provide a foundation and point teachers towards further professional development opportunities for continued growth and integration into the local education system.
(1) Gain an initial understanding of classroom management techniques to foster positive learning environments.
(2) Be introduced to diverse instructional strategies to meet student needs, with guidance on where to explore these further.
(3) Learn the basics of integrating educational technology into lessons and where to deepen their expertise.
(4) Develop initial strategies for engaging students in the learning process and learn where to find further resources.
(5) Understand the importance of differentiating instruction for diverse learners, with recommendations for future learning.
(6) Reflect on their early teaching practice and be encouraged to continue professional development.
This introductory training course is designed to support new teachers as they begin their careers in UAE schools. It provides a foundational understanding of essential skills, including classroom management, instructional techniques, student engagement, and technology integration, while aligning with UAE teaching standards. The course will guide participants on where to seek further resources for deeper learning and integration into UAE schools.
2 hours per week (asychronous) over 7 weeks (or self-paced); online quizzes are embedded within the course; participants can engage with one another online asychronously.
