This first-of-its-kind specialized level six certification program for teaching/classroom assistants in nurseries and cycle one schools stands out through its collaboration with Helsinki University and accreditation by the National Qualification Center (NQC). Participants receive tailored training that enhances their ability to support teaching and learning effectively, ensuring a positive impact on early education.
The purpose of this program is to upskill teaching and classroom assistants in the field of early childhood education by training them both theoretically and practically on the latest evidence-based successful practices and approaches in teaching assistance for early childhood at nurseries and Cycle 1 schools. This program aims to enhance assistants' abilities to support teachers and contribute to the development of nurturing and effective learning environments for young children.
(1) Explain child development stages theories and apply them to support children's growth, ensuring age-appropriate learning experiences.
(2) Use a range of observation methods to assess children's progress and adjust teaching accordingly to meet individual needs.
(3) Build positive relationships with families and communicate effectively to foster a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
(4) Apply a range of pedagogical approaches and teaching strategies to enhance children's learning and development.
(5) Comply with health and safety regulations in early childhood settings to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
(6) Demonstrate knowledge of educational neuroscience and its application in early childhood language development to optimize learning outcomes.
(7) Adhere to the UAE's early childhood education laws and regulations to maintain high standards of practice.
(8) Reflect on teaching practices through self-assessment and feedback to continuously improve instructional effectiveness.
This certification program is tailored for teaching and classroom assistants in nurseries and cycle one schools. It includes seven modules that cover assisting while caring, childhood safety, education and society, and childhood neuroscience and language development. The program aims to prepare classroom assistants to effectively support the educational and developmental needs of young children. Completers will be ready to assist teachers and contribute to creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.
(1) Attendance in a minimum of 85% of live sessions.
(2) Deliver minimum of 85% of required assignemnts and portfolios.
(3) Achieve minimum of 60% in final marks.
(1) High School degree.
(2) Active position in teaching/classroom assistant position at a primary school or nursery.
(3) Proficiency in either Arabic or English language, depending on the language of instruction selected.
(4) 500-word personal statement. NOTE: Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance of registration.
