This course stands out by empowering teachers to experiment and innovate with digital technologies within their own contexts. Participants will enhance their teaching design and practice, gaining skills to use digital tools critically and purposefully. The course supports professional development, enabling teachers to effectively integrate digital technologies into teaching and learning, and create dynamic, engaging educational experiences.
The purpose of this course is to enable teachers to critically engage with key theories, concepts, principles, and issues in using digital technologies to support teaching and learning. Participants will develop effective and reflective practices in leading learning through digital technologies. The course focuses on understanding the potential and use of digital technologies to achieve the best impact in teaching and learning. By the end of the course, teachers will be equipped to integrate digital tools effectively, enhancing their instructional methods and improving student outcomes.
(1) Understand principles, concepts, and issues concerning the use of digital technologies to support learning, and apply these in their own practice.
(2) Consider how and why digital technologies may be used to support their students' learning and the challenges involved.
(3) Develop their ability to find and select appropriate digital technologies and related activities to support specific learning goals, and to engage and enthuse students.
(4) Improve their ability to plan, execute, and evaluate teaching episodes that use digital technologies.
(5) Develop their reflective practice skills to help them evaluate and enhance their own practice in using digital technologies.
(6) Learn collaboratively, supported by their colleagues.
This course equips teachers with the skills to effectively integrate digital tools into their teaching practices. It encourages critical reflection on personal and peer teaching methods, promoting experimentation with new techniques and technologies. The course aims to enhance teaching efficacy, ensuring that all students benefit from improved learning experiences. This course stands out for its focus on practical digital strategies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in teaching practices.
3 hours per week instruction; 3 hours per week mentoring/reading; participants also expected to complete activities in their workplace and develop a portfolio of evidence, practice and reflection, totalling to 3600 words, to be presented to Cambridge for the certificate.
Required to be a practicing educator within a school; evidence of practice is expected.
