Early Childhood Education Certification (ECEC)

Available for school leaders, teachers, and classroom assistants. This is a professional certification with three programs:

ECEC Leadership Program

The ECEC Leadership program provides education certification for leaders in primary schools and nurseries. The program is available in both Arabic and English languages.

ECEC Teachers Program

The ECEC Teachers’ program provides education certification for teachers at primary schools and nurseries. The program is available in both Arabic and English languages.

ECEC Teaching Assistants Program

The ECEC Teaching Assistants’ program provides education certification for classroom assistants at primary schools and nurseries, and is available in Arabic and English.

ECEC Programs Overview

ECEC programs aim at building a comprehensive ecosystem of leaders, teachers, and teaching assistants for early childhood concepts and approaches. The program’s content is designed by the University of Helsinki HY+ and is based on the latest discoveries and research in the science of education for early childhood.

The content of the programs helps the educators create a learning environment for children where they entirely engage in the learning process by working on their active and curious nature, the thing which is particularly important in their learning process. Content localization and customization to the UAE context have been conducted with Sharjah Education Academy (SEA).

These certification programs are designed to provide in-service school leaders, teachers, and classroom assistants with pedagogical studies and practical training that develop the participant’s 21st-century competencies in early childhood education and enable them to be innovative educators. The programs engage the participants in a learning process that is both enjoyable and useful, even a life-changer.

The ECEC program trainers are highly qualified Master and Expert Trainers coming from around the world with experience and up-to-date scientific knowledge.

ECEC Programs’ Model

Our unique programs model approach ensures a comprehensive and dynamic learning experience, equipping the student with the essential tools for success in the field of early childhood education.

01  Flipped Learning and self-paced module before the contact sessions.
02   Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and collaborative learning.
03   Theoretical and research-oriented material.
04   Practical-oriented assignments reported in the online platform.
05   Skills, knowledge, and competencies assessment aligned with Early Childhood licensure.

Programs’ Overview

        • Each program comprises of 7 to 12 modules
        • Programs’ Duration: 15 to 25 weeks
        • The total hours of work per module is 45 hours.
        • In general, each module is administered as follows:
            • In person, face-to-face (work-based learning)
            • Online synchronous (real time online / live)
            • Hybrid consisting of real time (live) and not real time (pre-recordings and materials)

 

Module Content

    • 1 flipped learning video or text-based material so learners can familiarize themselves before the contact sessions.
    • 1 theoretically oriented presentation with this module questionnaire for the contact session.
    • 1 practical-oriented presentation with this module questionnaire for the contact session and assignments reported in the online platform.
    • 1-2 readable texts with this module questionnaire for the contact session and assignments reported in the online platform.

Module Practical Elements

1. Clear practical assignments to conduct in participants’ own workplace with their own team and promoting home-school collaboration with the parents as part of each module. This is to help bring the theory learned into practice immediately, strengthen the connection and understanding, and avoid silo thinking.

2. Rotating internship/visits in the model units with clear assignments for each visit to be reported in the online platform. Furthermore, the rotation will build the participants’ professional network and provide peer support in creating change in their own working place.

3. Practical project: Creating a development plan (Duration to be confirmed based on local needs as a part of the localization process), with clear desired results, milestones, action points, and follow-up plan. Presentation of the plan at the end of the training.
